About National Service Scheme (India)
NSS is a government-sponsored public service program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. It is aimed at personality development of students through community service.
- Established: 1969, in honor of Mahatma Gandhi's birth centenary.
Objectives of NSS
Develop a sense of social responsibility.
Encourage volunteerism and community involvement.
Help students understand the needs and problems of society.
Foster a spirit of national integration and social harmony.
Motto: "Not Me, But You"
