The Department of Mathematics, Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya was established in 2023 with the specific purpose of imparting quality education with a vision to become a leading global learning and research hub in mathematical sciences. While offering courses in mathematics, the department is committed to achieving all the goals and objectives envisaged in the National Education Policy 2020, as well as inculcating in students the essential values of scientific inquiry, logical reasoning, analytical and critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

The department aims to promote excellence in teaching, research, and innovation, and to create a strong academic environment through interdisciplinary and application-oriented studies in mathematics that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning. It intends to explore both theoretical and emerging areas of mathematical sciences through quality teaching and research activities so as to equip students with the ability to address real-world problems in science, technology, industry, and society.

The department is committed to offering courses with the prime objective of enhancing students’ employability in academia, research, industry, data science, finance, information technology, and allied sectors, with a focus on cognitive, analytical, computational, and life skills, while also preparing them for competitive examinations and higher studies.

The department is currently offering a Five-Year Integrated Master’s Programme in Mathematics, designed to provide continuous and comprehensive training from undergraduate to postgraduate level under the framework of NEP 2020.
