An awareness programme on “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” was organized through a drama enactment by the MSW 1st Semester students of Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya (BSSRV) at Pulibor Adarsha Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School. The programme aimed to sensitize school students and the local community about the social, educational, health, and legal implications of child marriage (Bal Vivah).
The students performed a well-structured and impactful drama depicting the real-life issues arising from early marriage, such as denial of education, health risks, emotional trauma, and violation of child rights. The enactment also highlighted the importance of education, gender equality, and legal provisions under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, emphasizing the role of society in preventing this social evil.
Through powerful dialogues, realistic characters, and emotional storytelling, the drama effectively conveyed the message that child marriage hinders national development and violates the fundamental rights of children. The performance encouraged students to speak up against child marriage and motivated them to act as responsible citizens.
Teachers and students of Pulibor Adarsha Vidyapeeth H.S. School actively participated and appreciated the initiative. The programme concluded with an interactive session where MSW students discussed the theme with the audience, clarified doubts, and reinforced the slogan “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat – A Safer Future for Every Child.”
The programme reflected the commitment of BSSRV students towards community engagement, social awareness, and practical application of social work principles.
