In August 2026, Golaghat launched a district-wide anti-drug drive to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. As part of this noble initiative, students of the Department of Social Work, Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya (BSSRV), performed a powerful street play, spreading a strong message on drug awareness and prevention while engaging the public through their impactful performance. The initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Pachim Golaghat Xakha Sahitya Sabha, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), the District Administration, and BSSRV. Their collective commitment reflects a shared determination to build a drug-free society and inspire positive change among the people of Golaghat.
